Sonia Daadoucha Perroud, BMS

Sonia entered the profession of Biomedical Laboratory Scientist in 1990 at the District Hospital of the Glâne in the canton of Fribourg. She got her diploma of laboratory management in 2000 and became more active in her professionnal association (labmed), first as member (2001 to 2005), then as president of the french speaking section (2005 to 2009). Sonia has always been concerned by continuing professionnal development (CPD). Beside her collaboration to a survey regarding CPD during her management training, Sonia organised several french CPD courses. She is also concerned by quality which formed the topic of her dissertation while undertaking her laboratory management diploma. As member of the editorial board of labmed journal, she is in charge of french and english scientific articles.

Sonia has collaborated as french speaking delegate to the production of the new swiss BLS professionnal framework curriculum. Beside her work in the laboratory, she is now acting as professional expert for the federal recognition of teaching programms in french speaking swiss BLS schools.

Sonia has represented Switzerland as delegate to IFBLS from 2005 to 2008 and EPBS since 2005. She is delighted to serving EPBS to contribute to the recognition of Biomedical scientists as full part of healthcare professionnals and ensuring that they get the means to developp their competences.

Sonia enjoys travelling and discovering new cultures and customs. She also likes music and sports such as running, swimming and walking.

The EPBS was formed in May 1999 at The Hague, Netherlands. This non profit organisation is committed to promoting best practice and ethics for Biomedical Laboratory Scientists throughout Europe.
It was officially registered in Brussels, Belgium in 2006 as an international non-profit association.

Membership is open to professional bodies committed to developing the skills and knowledge of the biomedical scientist in order to become an effective member of the health care team.

 

 

GGB meeting

The aims of the EPBS are to:

  • promote the maintenance of the highest possible standards of practice within biomedical science;
  • develop the ethical and professional values of the biomedical scientist;
  • support the training and education of the biomedical scientist in order to improve health care provision;
  • foster co-operation between member societies in areas of education, continuing professional development, competences and research;
  • liaise with EU Commission on all issues relevant to biomedical science;
  • utilise this shared knowledge between the societies to the benefit of all.

Member Associations nominate representatives to the General Governing body of the EPBS which meets annually Management of the EPBS is entrusted to the Management Body elected by the general Governing Body.
