The 33rd meeting of the Advisory Board Healthcare Services (ABHS) took place virtually on November 14, 2023.
First item was the agreement about the new structure of ABHS in the Sector Forum Healthcare. The group is set up under the auspices of CEN and CENELEC. The mission of the sector forum is to provide strategic and well-informed advice on matters relating to Healthcare Standardization in the European Economic Area (EEA) to CEN and CENELEC and their Technical Boards (BTs). Members will meet to discuss concerns and when appropriate, the group will prepare and submit advice to the relevant Technical Board(s) for endorsement and dissemination to the appropriate Technical Committees. The aim is to collaborate with CEN-CENELEC Management Centre (CCMC) to support the European Commission’s DG SANTE regarding standardization requests or healthcare-related discussions/concerns.
Furthermore reports from CCMC and EC UDI Working Group and a discussion about Sustainability & Healthcare Standardization. The item “Areas of interest for standardization” the withdrawal of anaesthetic agents from clinical practice and Quantum Technology in life science were presented.
Next meeting will be in spring 2024.
